About us

We are a friendly group of over 100 beekeepers living in the area.  We have a teaching apiary in Weybridge, and an association apiary in Rowtown where members may keep their bees. Monthly newsletters, regular meetings, demonstrations and lectures are organised with the aim of bringing beekeepers in the district together to promote the understanding of honeybees, the care of bees and the production of high quality honey and beeswax products.

More about us

Honeybees are declining because of diseases, the effects of the parasitic mite Varroa destructor, loss of foraging habitat, the use of pesticides and climate change so honeybees need beekeepers.
We encourage potential beekeepers to learn about beekeeping and to help protect honeybees.

Beekeeping is very rewarding, with plenty to learn from other beekeepers and even more from the bees themselves. New members are always welcome, so if you are interested in finding out more, please contact us.

If you are interested in becoming a beekeeper we run beginners’ courses every year.  Please click here to find details of our latest course.
